Mogadishu: Suicide Bomb Hits Near Hotel Maka in Somalia’s Capital

A suicide bomb went off near the Hotel Maka in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, on Friday evening, killing at least six people, say reports. It is unclear if Al-Shabaab was responsible.

The BBC reported that “heavy casualties” were feared after the suicide attack.

The blast was followed by the sound of sirens and emergency crews were apparently on the scene, reported Reuters.

The news agency later reported that at least six people were killed.

Hotel Maka lies on the main road that goes through Mogadishu.

It is unclear who was responsible.
