As President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger, Joe Biden, headed to dueling campaign events in the battleground state of Minnesota, the two published dueling op-eds on Fox News, with both promising to lead an economic recovery from the CCP virus pandemic.

In his first-ever op-ed featured in Fox News, the former vice president highlighted the suffering of American families, businesses, and communities during lockdowns implemented in response to the pandemic, once again blaming Trump administration for the deaths of more than 220,000 Americans.

“For eight months, we’ve lived through one of the most devastating tragedies in American history,” Biden wrote Friday. “we know that so much pain could have been avoided if only the president had faced reality and taken action sooner.”

Emphasizing his blue-collar roots in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Biden pledge that, if elected, he would mount an “aggressive” approach to control this CCP virus and build an economy that “deals everyone in.”

“I won’t raise taxes on anyone making under $400,000 a year—but I will make big corporations and the super-wealthy pay their fair share,” he said. “We'll use that revenue to get help to schools and small businesses, give educators and essential workers a well-deserved raise, and make health care, child care and elder care more affordable for everyone.”

Trump, who has made dozens of appearances on Fox News shows since being elected in 2016, wrote on Friday that Americans have to decide whether to continue the “safety, prosperity, and opportunity” he has promised and delivered, or return to an “old Washington status quo, where Beltway insiders enriched themselves at the expense of hardworking Americans across the country.”

“The nation deserves to enjoy eight full years of growth and economic prosperity under my administration,” the president declared, citing the economic achievements in his first three years, as well as the government’s efforts to ease the financial hardships on Americans amid the pandemic.

“Thanks to my emergency economic relief legislation, more than 159 million Americans received direct financial assistance during the pandemic. Meanwhile, our Paycheck Protection Program helped protect 51 million American jobs, allocating over $525 billion in forgivable loans for over 5.2 million small businesses,” Trump wrote.

“As a result of our efforts and the tremendous momentum of the pre-pandemic economy, we’re witnessing the fastest labor market recovery from an economic crisis in history,” Trump added. “The American economy grew at an annualized rate of 33.1 percent in the third quarter, another example of the economy beating expectations under my leadership. This is a new record for quarterly economic growth and is nearly double the previous record set 70 years ago.”

The two op-eds came less than a week before Election Day. Polls show the race remains close in multiple states, including Minnesota, where Trump lost in 2016 by a razor-thin 1.5 percentage points, the best performance for a Republican presidential candidate in the state in decades.
