Some years ago, in an interview about the media for a major Australian newspaper, I was asked; “Do you believe in the devil?”
I was somewhat surprised and suspected an ambush. An affirmative answer could be ridiculed; a negative answer could be used to demonstrate hypocrisy.
Relinquishing prudence, I answered almost immediately, I think to the journalist’s surprise.
“Of course, I do,” I said.
“How else can we explain the killing of over 125 million people in the 20th century by those monsters Hitler, Lenin and Stalin, and with more blood on his hands than all the others, Mao Zedong? How else but through the existence of the Devil as a force for evil can we explain this?
“And how else can you explain the enslavement and torture of hundreds of millions more? Does this not indicate the existence of an especially evil force in this world?”
When the Chinese Communist Party saw the Soviet Union collapse and the utter poverty and ruination they had imposed on the Chinese people, with refugees even swimming through shark-infested seas to reach the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong, the communists feared that they would be the next.
They grasped for salvation by bringing to China the communist-fascist corporate model briefly used by Lenin under the New Economic Plan and utilised as part of the economic and political control Mussolini imposed on Italy and Hitler refined to ensure their economies remained workable but fully compliant to the dictatorship.
Many in the West were lulled by this and by suggestions that this was a sign the communists intended to liberate at some gradual pace their subject peoples.
It was not. This change was adopted for one purpose, and one purpose only.
This was for the self-preservation of a massively corrupt and extraordinarily evil cabal of billionaire despots.
Twenty-one years ago, it should have become absolutely clear, even to the most naïve, that the communists had never intended to liberate the Chinese people.
Having already targeted both the house-church Christians who refuse to join the communist-front “patriotic” churches and the Muslim Uyghurs, so without notice, the regime declared an unlimited war of persecution against the people of Falun Gong.
This was for two reasons. First, the number of practitioners had grown exponentially to be even more than the total membership of the Party, the membership of which is compulsory for certain positions in China.
This was related to the second reason. The mainly unstructured association of Falun Gong advanced a philosophy emphasising Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. This is after all an association dedicated to doing good consistent with traditional Chinese religions, but also consistent with the moral teachings of Jesus. And as such, this is antithetical to the brutal dogmas espoused by the self-interested communist cabal, which if they did not believe them, are at least the raison d'être for their survival.
To demonstrate how they really are the bacillus plague that Churchill described, the communists applied to Falun Gong the same monstrous practice they applied to those “guilty” of a capital crime, the sale of their organs after no doubt the depraved leadership had their pick.
Being found guilty under the communists is the inevitable consequence of being charged. This is truly guilt by accusation. As Soviet secret police chief Lavrentiy Beria said, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.”
The communists made the people of the Falun Gong victims of the trade in human organs without even the façade of a criminal trial. If there were any doubts about this, these are forever negated by the findings of an investigation of unchallengeable merit and virtue, the London-based independent China Tribunal.
This was chaired by an eminent lawyer, Sir Geoffrey Nice QC, who was deputy prosecutor at the trial of Slobodan Milošević in the International Criminal Tribunal. In addition to other legal and human rights experts, there was the professor of Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at University College London.
Among the evidence was that by Dr. Enver Tohti, who was required to operate on prisoners, beginning with one who had been shot in the right side of his chest and whom he assumed to be dead. But when he realised the man’s heart was still beating, he was still forced to remove the man’s liver and both kidneys, sew the body back up, and to “remember that today, nothing happened.”
It is clear that on the volume of organ transplants performed in Communist China, the fact that there are few voluntary donors, the emergence of a large “on demand” industry and evidence from execution schedule, and reports that Falun Gong prisoners are given medical exams in custody to assess their candidacy as organ suppliers, wicked crimes of an extraordinary number are being committed by the communists.
It is clear that healthy, beautiful young people are being taken away and for no other reason that they are heretics in the communist eyes, and that their organs are being removed while they are still alive to be sold in a reprehensible trade that has attracted international condemnation. While the victims have probably included Uighur Muslims and “house” Christians, that is Christians who do not belong to communist-approved churches but worship in private houses, the greater number are certainly Falun Gong.
There are those in the West who will warn against confronting the communists over these crimes. They will point to the importance of Communist China economically and politically. Some of course are doing very well out of the communists, with many like Lenin’s “useful idiots,” who he said would sell the rope with which the communists would hang them. And some will even say that the Chinese people are different and neither want nor need democracy or even human rights.
This is completely untrue. In recent elections in Hong Kong and Taiwan, Chinese people have demonstrated that they too want both democracy and human rights. Taiwan indeed has shown herself to offer the world’s best practice in relation to Wuhan or CCP virus, an experience which has sadly been ignored because too many accept Beijing’s instructions to treat Taiwan as a leper.
Australia, as more than any other country, is the offspring of both the United Kingdom and the United States, and as such, shares the strong belief that, as the Declaration of Independence states, “all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Thus, the Preamble to the Australian Constitution Act states that the people of the several colonies “humbly relying on the blessing of Almighty God, have agreed to unite in one indissoluble Federal Commonwealth.’’
It is a strong belief in the Anglosphere and indeed in the West that all were born with certain unalienable rights.
No peoples are an exception.
It is a sad fact of history that in the past people have turned away from the horrors that Stalin and Hitler were creating in the famine in the Ukraine and in the Holocaust and for reasons best known to themselves, have averted their eyes for a time at least from these crimes.
It is indefensible now to do this in relation to Falun Gong. The communists must be held to account at every level. Unless and until the persecution ceases, this must be the prevailing principle in our relations with the Beijing communists.
