NTD television station is expanding its recently-established UK broadcast to more viewers, with the launch of a new channel on Freeview via Channelbox.

The station, a sister media of The Epoch Times, launched its first UK broadcast in February on Sky TV channel 190.

NTD delivers independent news, current affairs, classical arts, and culture programmes in English.

Announcing the launch of the new channel on April 1, Tanya Kronfli, Channelbox business development said, “We are thrilled to work with NTD to expand their audience in the UK via the most innovative platform, delivering news and programmes about China and its arts and culture to the biggest TV platform in the UK.”

NTD bills itself as a global multilingual American television broadcaster, founded by Chinese-Americans, free from all external influence—and covers stories that others don’t.

“Its arts and lifestyle programs embody universal values and celebrate the best of humanity’s culture and traditions,” said NTD in a statement.

Helen Li, General Manager of NTD UK said, “We are delighted to be working with Channelbox, making use of their innovative approach to video delivery to bring our unique brand of programming to a bigger UK audience.”

To access Channelbox, audiences need to be able to connect to Freeview via a TV aerial and the internet and to select channel 271.

Current channels include news, movies, music, and entertainment channels in English and other languages.

The UK broadcast also includes a daily 30-minute UK-oriented news broadcast.
