Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Her Twitter Account Got Suspended Following Easter Tweet

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said Twitter suspended her account for a second time in two weeks, coming after she made a tweet referring to Easter Sunday.

“Twitter suspended me again by ‘mistake’ yesterday after I tweeted, ‘He is risen.’ Everyone knows that’s a LIE, and it was no mistake,” she wrote on Twitter after announcing she’s back online.

Twitter on Monday confirmed that it was a mistake.

“We use a combination of technology and human review to enforce the Twitter Rules across the service. In this case, our automated systems took enforcement action on the account referenced in error. This action has been reversed, and access to the account has been reinstated,” a spokesperson for Twitter told news outlets.

When she was suspended, Greene went on Gab, an alternative to Twitter, to suggest that it was her Christian faith that played a role in Twitter suspending her account.

“After tweeting, ‘He is risen! Happy Easter!’ I was suspended this morning for 12 hours!,” she wrote. “Was it my Christian faith?”

In mid-March, Twitter suspended Greene before reinstating her account, blaming the move on an error. That suspension came as a House Democrat introduced a long-shot resolution to expel her from Congress over her previous social media posts and activity.

“No reason given from Twitter after multiple attempts to contact them,” a spokesman for her office told The Epoch Times at the time.

“This move eliminated any possibility for Congresswoman Greene to defend her reputation, her seat, and most importantly the votes of 230,000 Georgians in the 14th District on the Twitter platform. This is yet another attempt by the Silicon Valley Cartel to silence voices that speak out against their far-left woke orthodoxy,” her office added at the time.

House Democrats led a successful effort to strip Greene of her political committee assignments over her previous social media posts and comments. Previously, Greene denounced the move as a form of “cancel culture” that is intended to silence conservative voices.

Since January, Twitter and Facebook have banned or locked out several prominent conservative figures and groups, including former President Donald Trump, Project Veritas, Kevin Sorbo, The Gateway Pundit, and others. Project Veritas and The Gateway Pundit both reported that Twitter provided no explanation for the ban, while Sorbo, after he was banned from Facebook, made a similar claim.

The Epoch Times contacted Greene’s office and Twitter for comment.
