John Travolta has reportedly dropped charges against two men who allegedly attempted to extort millions of dollars from the actor.
Tarino Lightbourne and Pleasant Bridgewater attempted to extort $25 million from Travolta after his 16-year-old son Jett died last year.
Lightbourne, a paramedic driver who transported Travolta’s son, and Bridgewater, his lawyer, threatened to go to the media with evidence that he signed a “Refusal to Transport” document. The case against the two ended in a mistrial last year.
Travolta “concluded that it was in my family’s best interest for me not to voluntarily return to the Bahamas to testify a second time at trial,” Travolta told People magazine, in a prepared statement.
“Almost a year later, the long pending status of this matter continued to take a heavy emotional toll on my family, causing us to conclude that it was finally time to put this matter behind us.”
Travolta and wife Kelly Preston are expecting a third child.
