Junior High Principal Cedric Magee says the school received a bomb threat.
Students were evacuated from the school just after noon and walked to nearby Vicksburg Junior High.
The Vicksburg Post (http://bit.ly/1ORGAb6) reports the device was detonated by a robot after being removed from the school building. No injuries were reported.
Officials didn’t immediately return calls seeking more information about whether it was actually an explosive device.
