VICKSBURG, Miss.  — Vicksburg police say a school was evacuated after what appeared to be bomb was found in the library.

Police Chief Walter Armstrong told WAPT-TV (http://bit.ly/1RaOo9o) the device was found Wednesday inside a backpack in the library at Warren Central Junior High. Armstrong says a student told school officials after another student showed him the device. Two students have been detained pending investigation.

Junior High Principal Cedric Magee says the school received a bomb threat.

Students were evacuated from the school just after noon and walked to nearby Vicksburg Junior High.

The Vicksburg Post (http://bit.ly/1ORGAb6) reports the device was detonated by a robot after being removed from the school building. No injuries were reported.

Officials didn’t immediately return calls seeking more information about whether it was actually an explosive device.
