A 4-year-old girl was found hiding under a bed in a Richmond, Calif., home after the girl went missing Friday night, according to reports.
Amia Renee Stewart disappeared at a home where she was visiting family. After several hours worth of searching, the girl was found in the same house hiding under a bed.
“She was surrounded by many different items and unfortunately had gone undetected,” police spokesperson Lt. Bisa French told the San Francisco Chronicle.
French said the girl is in good condition.
Stewart went missing at around 6:22 p.m. and was found shortly before midnight, reported the San Jose Mercury News.
Stewart’s mother told NBC News she apologizes for causing worry to her family and others. She said she looked everywhere in the house, and police brought in dogs but couldn’t find the child.
