Miss Arkansas Ashton Jo Campbell is one of the top 16 in the 2015 Miss America contest on Sunday night.

The 20-year-old hails from Hindsville.

She graduated from Huntsville High School and currently attends the University of Arkansas.

Her professional ambition is to obtain a dual Master’s degree in Political Science and Business Administration and work on the corporate level as a Human Resource Director and Lobbyist.

Her talent is vocal and her platform is Aim Higher: Setting Our Sights on Higher Education. The Miss Arkansas website says that the platform aims to help students across Arkansas, and eventually the country, take the next steps in furthering their education.

“It is Ashton’s personal goal to speak to 75,000 students in Arkansas during her reign and help create a stronger Arkansas through Higher Education,” it says.

“Her program focuses on four main aspects: forms of higher education, high school clubs and organizations to join, financial options and how to take the first steps to further one’s education. She also plans to speak to students about the importance of social media responsibility and the role it can play in both helping and hindering their professional success.”
