Mike Halcomb, aka “Dark Mike,” a Super Smash Bros. star player with Samus, is dead after being shot outside of his house.

Halcomb was holding his Xbox and shot for it, friends said on Facebook.

Sky Williams, one of the friends, started a Paypal fund for Halcomb’s family.

“I will be sending all proceeds to his family to help them afford a proper service,” he said.

“If we can raise almost 100k for breast cancer, there’s got to be a way to raise at least like 5k for his family to even remotely afford this.”

Halcomb was projected to become the world’s top player thanks to his success with Samus. His success with the character was unprecedented because Samus was considered slow and weak.

“It was like a 5-foot-5 basketball player balling on people,” Richard Tan-shuttleworth, a prominent California Super Smash Bros. community organizer, told the Daily Dot. “We were all like, ‘You’re not supposed to do that, man!'”

but he stepped back from top tier competition after 2011 because he didn’t enjoy Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

He more recently started getting into League of Legends, though he still played Super Smash locally.
