Nike and Michael J. Fox Host Charity Auction

The shoe, which is an exact replica of a prop worn by Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly in the hit 1989 movie Back to the Future Part II, features an electroluminescent outsole, space-age materials, and a rechargeable internal battery good for 3,000 hours.
All proceeds from the auction will go to Fox’s foundation. Additionally, Google co-founder Sergey Brin and his wife Anne Wojcicki are pledging to match up to $50 million for donations made to the foundation between now and Dec. 31, 2012. In 1991, Fox was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s disease.
Actor Cliff Robertson Dies

Robertson, a flying enthusiast and certified pilot, was in the air and piloting a private plane over New York City on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, according to a report from TMZ.
Wilson Phillips Gets Reality Series

The show, titled The Wilson Phillips Project, will chronicle the lives of Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson, and Chynna Phillips as they strive for a comeback after their first rise to success in the late 1980s. The series is set to premiere later this year.
Paltrow, Timberlake Win Emmys

Paltrow won for her appearances on the hit musical show Glee as substitute teacher Holly Holliday, while Timberlake took home the prize for his hosting of the iconic comedy skit show Saturday Night Live. The Primetime Emmy Awards, which is a separate ceremony, will be televised live on the FOX network Sept. 18.
