A Miami toddler may have been craving adventure when he boarded a bus and took a joyride alone.

Two-year-old Jakell Brown was waiting at the bus stop on Thursday when he wandered away and managed to step into a Miami-Dade transit bus.

According to Miami-Dade police, Brown was under the care of a family friend when he boarded the bus.

Passengers had noticed the boy get on, but thought he was with someone.

Edgar Hurtado was at the same stop when he noticed the boy cut in front and board the bus ahead of him. Thirty minutes into the ride when the bus had nearly cleared out, Hurtado realized something was wrong.

Hurtado concluded that the boy was traveling alone and alerted the bus driver who contacted police.

“That’s when I noticed, and I told the bus driver, ‘Listen, I think we got a kid on the bus by himself,’” said Hurtado.

Police reunited the toddler with relatives, who had found out about the ordeal from news reports.
