A 5.1 and 5.5 magnitude earthquake rattled near the coastal city of Santiago Pinotepa Nacional in Oaxaca, Mexico on March 26. Buildings shook, alarms sounded off, and scared residents sheltered in the streets.

A 5.1 and 5.5 magnitude earthquake rattled near the coastal city of Santiago Pinotepa Nacional in Oaxaca, Mexico on March 26. Buildings shook, alarms sounded off, and scared residents sheltered in the streets.

The earthquake in Mexico did not cause injuries or damage, according to NBC News.

“Located atop three of the large tectonic plates, Mexico is one of the world’s most seismologically active regions,” states the USGS website.
