Service on the Hudson Line between Tarrytown and Grand Central will remain suspended until further notice. The investigation at the site of the derailment will continue for 7–10 days. The site will then be turned over to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), which runs the Metro-North, for repairs.

The MTA will provide bus service between White Plains and Tarrytown stations for customers wishing to travel in and out of Grand Central.

The MTA recommends that commuters on the Hudson Line make alternate travel plans. Commuters at stations between Irvington and Yankees-E. 153rd Street stations are urged to use the Harlem Line, subways, or bus service. Hudson Line tickets will be cross-honored for these services.

Amtrak has restored service between New York City and Albany, N.Y., but says delays can be expected.
