A 15-year-old student at Overton High School in Memhpis, Tennessee, was found to have a handgun and a magazine with live rounds.
WMCTV reported that the student was caught with the gun as he went through a security metal detector.
The student, whose identity was not disclosed, was charged with possession with a weapon on school grounds.
The handgun in question was a .25 Caliber RG26 handgun. The gun was not loaded but the magazine had five rounds.
Other details were not disclosed.
