Medal Count 2014 Olympics: Germany Has Most Gold; Norway Most Medals
The medal count at the 2014 Sochi Olympics as of 1:30 p.m. ET has Germany on top with 6 golds and Norway with 12 medals, the most so far.
Golds are used as the highest ranking with number of medals a sort of tiebreaker if need be.
Canada is in second with four gold, four silver, and two bronze.
Norway is in third with four gold, three silver, and five bronze.
The Netherlands has four gold, two silver, and four bronze.
The United States has moved into fifth after taking the gold and bronze at the women’s halfpipe competition.
The country now has three gold, one silver, and five bronze. All three gold medals have come from snowboarding.
Switzerland is next, with three gold and one bronze. Russia has nine overall medals but only two gold. It has four silver and three bronze.
24 countries in all have earned medals, including Australia, which just got on the board with a silver at the women’s halfpipe.
