McCarthy Says Biden’s Massive Tax-and-Spend Plans Make Bernie Sanders ‘Look Like a Conservative’

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Thursday sharply criticized President Joe Biden’s massive early-term spending proposals, comparing the president to one of the most left-leaning lawmakers on Capitol Hill, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

McCarthy tweeted a critical meme on April 29, the day that marked Biden’s 100th day in office, accusing the president of a “tax-and-spend agenda that makes Bernie Sanders look like a conservative.”
