The McCabe fire in Sonoma County, Cailfornia is about 35 percent contained and is currently burning at 3,300 acres, authorities say.
The fire, which started early Friday morning, is northeast of Geyserville.
12 residences are threatened by the fire while one power plant cooling tower has been destroyed.
About a dozen agencies, with over 1,500 total personnel, are battling the fire.
“The fire continues to burn in steep and rugged terrain which has caused the slow production of containment lines around the incident,” said the state fire agency. “The weather is becoming more favorable which is assisting the firefighting efforts.”
