UPDATE as of 4:20PM: Danvers, Peabody, and Manchester residents should seek shelter due to a dangerous storm, Fox 25 reported.

A tornado warning was issued for parts of Massachusetts on Monday afternoon.

Essex, Middlesex, and Worcester counties are affected under the warning, the National Weather Service said, according to the Weather Channel’s Twitter feed.

The warning will last until 3:15 p.m.

Hillsborough County in southern New Hampshire was also placed under the tornado warning, reported WCVB-TV.

Locals are advised to take cover and not wait until they spot a tornado. It advised residents to go to a basement or the interior room on the lowest floor away from windows.

The warning comes as the Weather Service is looking into a possible tornado that touched down in Summit or Berkeley Heights in New Jersey on Monday morning.

There were reports of downed trees and power wires.

A tornado warning was also issued for parts of Connecticut but was lifted. However, the Weather Channel reported there was a semi truck blown off a road on I-91 near East Windsor.

The weather agency also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Hampden County in western Massachusetts.

Franklin County, Hampden County, and Hampshire County were also under a flash flood warning, said WGGB until 3:45 p.m.
