A Massachusetts man arrested on charges that he was planning to bomb the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol building was indicted on Thursday, according to media reports.

The FBI said 26-year-old Rezwan Ferdaus, an American citizen, was planning to use a remote-controlled aircraft filled with C-4 plastic explosives to carry out the attacks on the two buildings.

Ferdaus, who has a doctorate in physics, started planning to attack the United States early in 2010, according to the federal agency, which had undercover agents in contact with him.

They also said he allegedly gave modified cellular phones that could be used to detonate makeshift bombs to al-Qaeda operatives.

He was also charged with attempting to provide support and resources to a terrorist organization for them to use in attacks on soldiers overseas, CNN reported.
