“Mass Effect 4,” the upcoming game from Bioware, is confirmed for release, but there’s been little information about it. It’s also unclear if the game will be called “Mass Effect 4” or something else.

The Gamer Headlines reported last week that Bioware is working on a cinematic trailer for the game, and the company said it is working on new environments.

But in the next few weeks, Bioware will be releasing blogs about the progress on the game, according to the gaming website. Announcements will be spread out over a period of time until March.

“We have lots to talk about and show. It will take some time to cover all of it,” Aaryn Flynn, GM of Bioware Montreal, wrote on Twitter.

In another report, the website indicated that Reapers--which were big part of the previous three games--won’t have a big role.

“We are starting to get ready to develop another Mass Effect game, and it’s going to be a new thing. We want to be able to give fans an opportunity to get back into the world with these things you’ve come to know and love about the Mass Effect experience but start something fresh and new — a new way for you to explore the whole universe in Mass Effect,” the company stated.

It added: “There’s so much that could be told in the Mass Effect universe. It’d be cool to do something completely unrelated to the larger storyline, ike a story about a private investigator on the Citadel…”

Regarding the cinematic trailer, developer Ken Thain wrote on Twitter in early February: “Getting set for our first motion capture session for the next #MassEffect .Off to Vancouver tomorrow to use EA’s world class mocap facility.”

And a number of Bioware employees have said they’re impressed with the game.

YanickRRoy and I were lucky enough to get a sneak peek on some amazing new level environments today. Wow,” Michael Gamble wrote earlier this month

“Mass Effect 3” was released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC in March 2012.
