The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Maryland’s Somerset and Wicomico counties.

North-central Somerset County and central Wicomico County were under tornado watch until 5:15 p.m.

It said that “this dangerous storm was located 6 miles west of Princess Anne,” while moving northwest at 25 miles per hour.

The storm could affect Widgeon, Whitehaven, Green Hill, Allen, Trinity, Eden, Catchpenny, Shad Point, Lakewood, and Salisbury, the agency said.

Weather officials urge locals to take cover, avoid windows, and move to an interior room on the lowest floor of the building.

If possible, motorists or those living in mobile homes should vacate their vehicle or structure and take shelter in a sturdy building.

Several weeks ago, a tornado touched down in Baltimore.
