The Southern California of Mark Sheer, a financial services consultant, was the grisly scene of a murder-suicide that left four dead.

According to KLTA-TV, the discovery of four bodies was made at Sheer’s Mission Viejo home.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said they responded to the location from a family member who was looking for a welfare check at the home at around 9 a.m.

When officials investigated, two male victims and two female victims were found dead inside the house.

Lt. Jeff Hallock of the Sheriff’s Department told KTLA: “At this point in the investigation, investigators believe it is an apparent murder-suicide.”

The victims haven’t been identified but neighbors said that they were members of the Sheer family.

“We’re just as shocked as everyone else,” said pastor John Steward, who knew Mark Sheer.

Hallock told the OC Register that detectives believed that one of the people killed the other three before committing suicide.

Neighbor Anila Whitney-Miller told the Register that she heard what sounded like a child screaming early in the morning.

“It was just awful crying,” she said.
