Mark Ballas and Sadie Robertson trained all week for their Adam and Eve dance on Dancing With the Stars, incorporating a new wrinkle into their rehearsals to prepare to toss an apple back and forth.

Mark says that the passing of the apple “added a danger element” since either of them could have dropped it, which would have undoubtedly affected their score.

“During rehearsals, we played a game using a softball to get used to a prop. Throughout rehearsals, we would pass the ball to each other without telling the other, and you HAD to catch it! (It also had to be a good throw!),” he said in a blog post.

“If you dropped the ball, you would have to drop and do 20 pushups and plank for 10 seconds. In five days of playing the game, I only dropped it three times and Sadie dropped it four times. So I ended up winning the game, but that’s how we trained ourselves to be aware of the apple.

“When we got to the set on Sunday we changed from the softball to the apple, which was a bit more challenging because the apple isn’t as round, but we did a great job adjusting!”

Mark also thanked BC Jean--his girlfriend--for coming to sing live during the performance.

“It was such an honor to have BC Jean sing for us, and such an honor to tell a classic, beautiful story and honor The Bible and The Creator,” he said in the post on Hollywood Life.

Mark didn’t reveal the song for next week but said that “everyone’s hearts will melt when they hear it.”

He also said that Emma Slater, the professional partner of just-voted-off Michael Waltrip, will join him and Sadie in training to do the Foxtrot.
