Marathon runner’s baby: A woman training for a marathon in Minnesota had an unexpected baby while she was training, claiming she had no idea she was pregnant.
Trish Staine, 33, said she was training for a half-marathon on Saturday and ran for two hours when she noticed back pains, reported WDIO.com.
The pain became severe and she was rushed via an ambulance to a local hospital.
“In the ER, they found a fetal heartbeat. I was like, no no no. There’s no way I’m pregnant. But they rushed me up to the Birthing Center, and five minutes after I got into my room, she was born,” Staine told the station.
The baby was born 6 pounds and 6 ounces and was described as “healthy,” she said.
But Staine said that she showed no signs of being pregnant, including weight gain or loss of her period.
“It was like a dream,” her husband, John Staine, told the Duluth News Tribune. “I wanted to make sure it was real.”
The couple has two foster children and two biological children.
