Manhattan street closures will be extensive during the UN General Assembly, Monday, Sept. 22 through Saturday Sept. 27.

The use of public transportation for the duration of the General Assembly is highly encouraged. 

The following streets in Manhattan will be subject to closure:

1st Avenue from 42nd Street to 50th Street
2nd Avenue from 41st Street to 57th Street
44th Street to 46th Street from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
42nd Street from the FDR Drive to 5th Avenue
42nd Street Exit and Entrance Ramps of the FDR Drive
49th Street and 50th Street from 1st Avenue to Madison Avenue
51st Street from Park Avenue to Madison Avenue
57th Street from 2nd Avenue to 5th Avenue

The FDR Drive will be subject to intermittent closures southbound at 63rd Street and northbound at South Ferry.

The Roosevelt Island Bridge will be closed intermittently to all vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle traffic for up to 15 minutes at a time between 7 am and 7 pm from Monday, September 22 to Friday, September 26 to accommodate marine traffic diverted to the East Channel of the East River because of the security closure of the West Channel.
