Police are still looking for a man who they said violently attacked his wife with a steak knife in their Sunset Park apartment on Thursday, cutting off one of her arms and some fingers.

At about 12:20 p.m., police from the 72nd Precinct said they arrived at the apartment, located 55th Street and 5th Avenue, where they found a 35-year-old woman with her right arm severed below the bicep and two fingers on her left hand missing.

She was taken to the Bellevue Hospital where police said she was in critical but stable condition. The New York Daily News reports that doctors were unable to reattach her arm.

The NYPD put out a wanted alert for her husband, 35-year-old Yong Lu, who they said fled the scene after the attack. Police describe him as Asian, about 5-foot-8-inches tall, 160 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

The couple has a son together, age 7, and the Daily News reports the woman was pregnant at the time of the attack.

So far, police have no motive for the attack,
