A man thought dead after a lightning strike on Tuesday has been revived, according to reports.
According to police, the man was one of three crew members who were paving a school parking lot in Indianapolis when a thunder storm hit the area CBS News reported.
The three workers moved under a tree for shelter from a storm at around 3 p.m. on Aug. 1, and that’s when fire officials said a lightning strike hit them, according to CBS News. The man closest to the strike, whose name wasn’t released, went into cardiac arrest and police initially said he died.
A school officer came and shocked the man with a defibrillator. An emergency crew tried twice more. The man regained a pulse 12 minutes after their arrival. He regained consciousness and chatted with hospital staff after all three men were brought to the hospital. The two other workers sustained only minor injuries.
No school activities were going on at the time of the incident, according to CBS 4.
