A Caltrain that wasn’t carrying any passengers struck a man on the tracks in San Mateo on the evening of Sept.23, according to transit officials.
The incident occurred around 9:55 p.m. just north of the Caltrain station in San Mateo, transit officials said. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, but no update on his condition was available early morning on Sept. 24.
Caltrain officials said the train wasn’t in service and none of the crew was injured. Trains were cleared for full-speed service on both tracks less than an hour after the man was hit and officials said no passengers were delayed.
No further information is immediately available.
