Man Struck by Metal Pipe in Fight Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries

A man suffered life-threatening injuries when another man hit him with a pipe during an altercation in San Francisco’s Mission District on the morning of Sept. 4, police said.

The attack was reported at about 9:15 a.m. in the area of 15th and Caledonia streets.

A suspect, believed to be in his 30s, struck the 47-year-old victim with a metal pipe and then fled, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital and an update on his condition was not immediately available.
