Man Shot, Wounded Outside Police Headquarter in Western NY

LOCKPORT, N.Y.—Authorities are investigating the shooting of a man who was found wounded outside the headquarters of a western New York police department.

Police in the Niagara County city of Lockport say a patrol officer was leaving headquarters around 1:30 a.m. when he thought he heard gunshots. When the officer drove around to the side of the building he found a man on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo for treatment. Information on his condition hasn’t been released.

Police say they don’t know yet what led to the shooting.
