LOS ANGELES—A man in his 20s was rushed to a hospital after he suffered an injury south of Koreatown—reportedly losing part of a hand while lighting fireworks on July 4.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday to the 2600 block of South Catalina Street in the Adams-Normandie neighborhood, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Prange said the victim suffered a “reported extremity injury.”

KTLA5 reported that the man lost part of his right hand while lighting fireworks, and a video from the scene showed his hand covered with a towel while first responders tended to him.
