A 30-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle in the unincorporated Santa Cruz County area of Corralitos on the night of Sept. 16, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported at 9:06 p.m. on Corralitos Road north of Varni Road.

A 27-year-old woman driving a 2016 Honda Fit south on Corralitos Road for some reason veered off the roadway to the right and struck the 30-year-old pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.

His name is not yet being released by the Santa Cruz County coroner’s office.

The Honda driver, who suffered moderate injuries, was not arrested following the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation and officers have not determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the case, CHP officials said.

Corralitos Road was closed for about three hours during the collision investigation.
