After serving 26 years in prison for a rape and murder, Anthony Caravella was exonerated.
DNA evidence confirmed the innocence of the intellectually limited man. The Miami Herald reported that he was 15 when he went to prison.
His attorney said he had confessed to the crime after being coerced. He had already been released from prison, but was required to wear an ankle bracelet and follow a curfew pending final exoneration. Saturday, March 27 is Caravella’s birthday. He will be 42.
