Most people would be concerned or even angry if an ATM dispensed too little of the requested amount. However, one man in Florida got angry for quite the opposite reason.

Michael Joseph Oleksik from Merritt Island was arrested because he punched an ATM last month because it “was giving him too much money.”

Cocoa Police Department charged Oleksik with criminal mischief on Dec. 21 for causing at least $5,000 in damages to an ATM at a Wells Fargo bank in Cocoa.

Police said Oleksik was caught on surveillance video beating up the electronic teller’s touch screen on Nov. 29, reported 9news.

The 23-year-old then regretted his actions and called the bank to inform them that he had punched the ATM because he was “angry the ATM was giving him too much money and he did not know what to do,” reported the news station.

Oleksik also added that he was in a hurry to return to work and apologized for the damage he had caused to the bank’s ATM.

The bank then contacted Cocoa Police Department and asked to press charges. Oleksik was subsequently arrested and booked into Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
