BURBANK, Calif.—A 22-year-old man was behind bars March 7 for allegedly sexually assaulting three girls after slipping onto the campus of Burbank High School.

Burbank police said Patrick Nazarian, a Glendale resident, gained access to the campus Monday through an unlocked door in the student parking lot.

Police were called to the school at 902 N. Third Street around 9 a.m. Monday, and a 14-year-old girl told officers she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man in a campus bathroom. Police said the girl struggled with the man, who fled the bathroom but was detained by school employees until officers arrived.

Two other female students, aged 14 and 17, told police they were “inappropriately touched” by the suspect, police said.

Nazarian was booked on suspicion of kidnapping and sexual assault, and he was being held in lieu of $1.2 million bail, according to police and jail records.

“The Burbank Unified School District takes this incident very seriously and will cooperate fully with the police investigation,” Burbank Unified School District Superintendent Matt Hill said in a statement. “We are also conducting an internal investigation into this matter. Keeping our students safe is of the utmost importance.”

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Burbank Police Department Domestic and Family Crimes Unit at 818-238-3210.
