TAIPEI, Taiwan—Shen Yun Performing Arts presents 5,000 years of Chinese history in the form of art. The New York-based performing arts company tours the world over, striving to rekindle China’s authentic, divinely inspired culture through classical Chinese, story-based, and ethnic and folk dance and music.

Ms. Li, originally from Shaanxi, China, watched the show on Sunday March 25 in the Sun Ya-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei. She was very impressed, saying: “It was like I went back to ancient China, a feeling so familiar!”

She said she recommends that Chinese tourists who come to Taiwan should see Shen Yun, believing that they would be inspired by the message of peace and kindness.

For Ms. Li, who is now married to a Taiwanese, it was the first time she had seen Shen Yun. “It is so impressive!” she said after the show.

She spoke in detail about the dances How the Monkey King Came to Be, Crazy Ji Saves the Day, and Mu Guiying Commands the Troops and how her children would also like them. She was also amazed by the folk dances Dance of the Qiang People and Khata for the Gods.

Ms. Li said the most impressive program for her was “A Song for the Heart” played by erhu artist Ji Xiaochun. “It was so beautiful and ultimately shows the charm and beauty of Chinese traditional music.” Adding, “To be honest, I like every piece.”

“The scene on the stage and the music are all very familiar to me. The dances and the sceneries in the backdrop presented ancient Chinese culture and are so inspiring,” she said.

Ms. Li said the performance also conveyed an important message, that “Falun Dafa is a peaceful and friendly teaching.”

Since living in Taiwan, Ms. Li realized that the traditional spiritual discipline, Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa), is freely practiced outside of China. She began to doubt what she had been told about Falun Gong by the authorities in China. “I knew what was going on because I grew up in China and then came to Taiwan. However, my family and friends in China are still deceived by the propaganda from the regime.”

Ms. Li hopes that one day Shen Yun can perform in China and spread the beauty of traditional Chinese culture and the news of Falun Dafa.
