Magic Johnson told Laker Nation that he would stop complaining about the Los Angeles Lakers.

Taking to Twitter, Johnson sent several tweets that expressed that he wanted to encourage the Lakers, not keep criticizing them.

“Laker Nation: I want to give Coach D'Antoni credit because offensively he’s put the Lakers’ players in positions to be successful!” he said.

“Laker Nation: I’m going to stop complaining. I’m going to support and encourage Jim Buss and Coach D'Antoni because I love the Lakers!” he added.

“Laker Nation: It doesn’t do the Lakers players, coaches or ownership any good for me to complain,” he concluded.

On the other hand, at least one writer says that Johnson should not stop complaining about the team.

“Even though Magic is right on the money with his assessment of the Lakers, it seems like he thinks he may have gone too far,” wrote Andrew Fisher of Rant Sports.

“While I’m sure there are some Lakers fans that are glad Johnson is keeping his thoughts to himself from now on, I’m also sure that there are lots of fans who wish he would keep on talking. Big changes are need in L.A., there’s really no doubt about it. What better person to say that changes need to be made than Mr. Laker? He should be leading the charge for change, rather than just rolling with the current mediocre-at-best product.

“Maybe after an abysmal second half of the season, Magic will change his mind. Lakers fans can only hope.”
