McCann, who disappeared in 2007 during a family vacation in Portugal, was caught by camera’s spanning the stadium, which are said to be ITV4’s coverage of the Europa League final in Turin, Portugal, on May 14, 2014.

Although commentators have noted that the image looks like McCann is 3-year-old, the age when she was kidnapped, which makes the coincidence highly unlike as the girl would have aged.

Despite the sighting, McCann’s parents, the British couple Kate and Gerry McCann, are still looking for the girl.

“What is encouraging is that it shows everyone is still looking for Madeleine,” a family friend of the McCanns told the paper. “That will give her family great strength.”
