A cab driver for Lyft was fired after refusing to drop a woman off at her destination in Washington D.C.

After a Lyft driver dropped off a friend of Desiree Taylor, he refused to take her to the second destination, her home, and instead drove in the opposite direction, temporarily not letting Taylor out of the car, before dropping her off 15 minutes from her home.

Taylor reported the incident to the police, who said that they couldn’t do anything since she wasn’t harmed by the driver. Lyft has now fired the driver, according to ABC News

“We have a strict zero-tolerance policy and any behavior threatening the safety of a Lyft community member is not tolerated. The driver’s conduct was absolutely unacceptable, and his access to Lyft has been permanently removed,” a Lyft spokesperson said in a statement.

Taylor said that she had never encountered a problem with having a Lyft driver drop her and a friend off at different destinations before, and said that she was considering filing a lawsuit of reckless endangerment.

“The way he acted was totally out of context,” Taylor told ABC. “It’s not like I was belligerent or I was aggressive toward him in any way, shape or form to receive that response. I was just expressing myself.”
