NEW YORK—Over 85 establishments on Madison Avenue between 57th and 86th streets donated 20 percent of Sunday’s profits to The Children’s Aid Society. The cause, Miracle on Madison Avenue, has donated $8 million since 1987, and the proceeds this year will go toward helping low-income families afford medical treatment.

An opening ceremony marking 25th year Silver Anniversary of Miracle included live entertainment continued through the day, including performances by The Children’s Aid Society Chorus, the Labor of Love Ensemble Gospel Choir, Figgy Pudding a Cappella, and appearances by actresses Melyssa Ford and Gloria Reuben.

In addition to the donated proceeds, American Express is rewarding double membership rewards points at the participating establishments.
