Construction of a 132-unit, nearly four-acre luxury housing community for seniors is underway in Mission Viejo.

Scheduled to open in early 2023, the MorningStar of Mission Viejo will offer housing units for independent living, assisted living, and memory care residents.

Located at the former Avery Plaza business center at the intersection of Marguerite and Avery parkways in Mission Viejo, the community will include studio apartments as we as one- and two-bedroom suites, and a 126 below-grade parking garage.

The project—a partnership between Confluent Senior LivingConcord Development Partners and MorningStar Senior Living—will be MorningStar’s third community and California, and its first in Orange County.

“Enhancing quality senior living options is a pressing need in California, now more than ever,” Confluent Senior Living managing director John Reinsma said in a press release.

“Our team is committed to protecting seniors, and delivering best-in-class housing options is one way we can contribute to this greater need. This project will help to ensure residents have a lifestyle and home where they can enjoy life to the fullest with convenient amenities, resources and cutting-edge technologies that enhance wellness, safety and comfort.”

Amenities include nearly 14,000 square feet of outdoor space, a pool, spa, wellness center, a dog park, community garden and an outdoor dining area.

Around-the-clock staffing of full-time licensed nurses will be provided.

Confluent and Concord will serve as the project owners, while MorningStar will operate the facility.
