Real estate company Prodigy Network specializes in crowdsourcing. The company, founded by Rodrigo Nino, set a world record crowdfunding the tallest building in Colombia and similarly transforming the downtown area of the capital through crowdsourcing.
Crowdfunded real estate only recently became legal, and Prodigy Network partnered with several companies to launch AKA Wall Street, a building in lower Manhattan with investors from six different nationalities.
Now they’ve launched the world’s first Cotel, a collaborative hotel and first crowdsourced commercial building in New York.
17 John was envisioned not just to be a hotel, but a place to spark innovation and collaboration. The design competition ends April 21. Prizes range from $10,000 to $50,000.
There are three competitions ongoing: public space, private space, and digital services.
In addition to the building design, Prodigy Network is seeking entries for a Cotel website and mobile application.
