The grandmother of Louis Tomlinson, a member of One Direction, has died, according to his family. Thousands of Twitter users offered their condolences Saturday.

Mark Tomlinson, the father of Louis, tweeted: “The birds are singing today. Rest in Peace my beautiful Mum. I’m going to really miss you xxxxxxx.”

And his grandfather on Saturday also tweeted: “There was never one day in 47 years of being married to me that Mrs T didn’t tell me she loved me.” The message appears to confirm the other tweets that she had died.

His message was retweeted nearly 20,000 times.

Louis Tomlinson did not tweet about his grandmother’s death.

However, thousands of fans offered their condolences.

“She’s at peace now the angel is finally where she belongs #StayStrongLouis #RIPLouisGrandma,” wrote one

“I would like to dedicate my 25K tweet to louis’ grandma heaven gained an angel,” added another.

“My heart is broken. - Pip #RIPLouisGrandma,” wrote another.

Added one:  “#ripgrandmatomlinson we love you. Thank for making our baby so happy and being there for him. Prayers go out to the family.”

Louis Tomlinson recently celebrated his 22nd birthday on Dec. 24.
