LOS ANGELES—Longtime KCAL9 business reporter Alan Mendelson, best known for his “Best Buys” segments highlighting consumer deals on clothing, electronics, and other items, which later became a standalone program, has died at age 70, according to relatives.

“With much sadness and a collective broken heart, our family is sad to announce that our brother, Alan Mendelson, passed away on Nov. 9 at his home in Las Vegas,” his brother Seth wrote on Facebook.
