Wantagh High School in Long Island, N.Y., was on lockdown after a teacher heard a student allegedly say they had a gun, police said.

The school lifted the lockdown at around 11:40 a.m.

PIX-11 reported that the lockdown was carried out as a precautionary measure.

However, police said that there is no indication that there was a gun at the school.
