The Northern Parkway School in Uniondale, Long Island, in New York was evacuated after pepper spray was discharged on Wednesday.
Several teary eyed children were taken to the hospital via ambulance when the spray was released, police told NBC NY.
Emergency workers responded just after 11 a.m.
Police tape was seen cordoning off the entrance to the school.
