The wonderful moment a little girl sees the world and her mother for the first time after major eye surgery has been immortalized in this video.

In the video, we see the girl and her mother sitting in a hospital room as a female doctor tries to pry the heavy dressings from the poor child’s eyes. As the doctor works the mom grips the child tightly and sings to her in her native language in an attempt to keep the child calm. A translator from off screen explains to the mother what the doctor is doing as she works delicately on the dressing’s adhesive with solvent dissolver in order to free them painlessly from the child’s eyes and allow her to see the world for the first time in her life.

The moment is prolonged as the doctor struggles to loosen the bandages and the little girl begins to become upset and starts to cry, as the dressing is visibly pulling at her skin. With the struggling child becoming distressed the mother attempts to soothe her further by stroking her head and singing louder in Spanish, but her attempts are to no avail.

Finally, after what seems like an eternity for the little girl, the bandages come free and her tears turn to stares of wonderment as she finally sees the world for the first time. Confused, she stares around the room before turning to her mother and looking upon her face for the first time. Sobs can be heard from all those assembled, including the doctor and translator as the child embraces her mom and the two share a tender moment.
