Lipstick ban: Turkish Airlines is reversing a ban on lipstick that didn’t allow female flight attendants to wear red lipstick or nail polish.

Chief Executive Temel Kotil said the order was made by over-zealous managers.

“As to the lipstick, we had no problems, but somehow low-level managers put together a paper without asking us and that paper leaked to the media and became a big issue,” Kotil told reporters in London, according to Reuters.

A memo was sent throughout the airline last week, telling of new rules banning red lipstick for flight attendants, according to Fox. Dark pink lipstick was also on the banned list. Wearing red or dark pink lipstick and nail polish could hurt the “visual integrity” of the company, according to the memo.

Kotil confirmed that staff can use any color they want.
