In this Feb. 1, 2013 file photo, recording artist Lil Wayne meets fans and celebrates his contemporary street wear apparel brand TRUKFIT at his hometown Macy's, in New Orleans. The Rev. Al Sharpton says a meeting he held with PepsiCo Inc. officlals and members of Emmett Till's family was “positive.” Sharpton says in a statement PepsiCo officials apologized to the Till family at the Wednesday morning meeting at company headquarters in Purchase. PepsiCo and Lil Wayne ended their commercial relationship last week over vulgar lyrics the rapper included in a song that referenced Till, a black teen who became a civil rights icon after being killed while visiting Mississippi. Rumors saying Lil Wayne has HIV or AIDS aren’t true, but they keep going on Twitter.

Satire website DailyLeakz.com had an article titled, “Sad News: Lil Wayne reveals HIV diagnosis #Prayforweezy,” a few days ago.

“Breaking News: Lil‘ Wayne Of Y.M.C.M.B Came Out Publicly Today And Revealed That He Has Contracted H.I.V. Our Sources Tell Us That Later On This Week He Is Going To Make A Formal Annoucement To The Media & Fans, However He Did Give Positive Words Of Advice, ’Sometimes you get caught up with the strippers and groupies…Just Wear protection' #Prayforweezy (sic),” the article says.

The bogus article was shared hundreds of thousands of times, prompting the Louisiana-born rapper to respond to it.

Another fake news website Huzlers.com posted a similar article, which says, “Lil Wayne is not the first celebrity known to have HIV or an STD. Perhaps, the most widely known HIV victim is former NBA champion and legend Magic Johnson, who has become the center of internet memes and jokes, will Lil Wayne become the center of jokes as well? We'll have to wait and see.”

Huzlers has a disclaimer, which reads: “Huzlers.com is a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief.”

Wayne, in a now-deleted tweet, wrote to “stop playin with me!”

Over the weekend, Wayne and Drake released a new single, “Grindin.” The two did a preview of the track near Buffalo, NY.
